Frozen Yogurt and Snow in the Desert

Posted in Family

After a morning of rock climbing and a nice picnic lunch, we decided it might be nice to cool off a bit with a refreshing treat of frozen yogurt. Yes, she’s protecting that chocolate frozen yogurt. 😉 The air conditioning felt good, and the frozen yogurt was delicious. It left us all feeling more refreshed. While we don’t get snow here, I thought it would be fun for the girls to make some snow in the desert using some dollar store kits. They ended up adding all of their snow together and mixing in some ice. They had fun playing…

Exploring Joshua Tree National Park: Skull Rock

Posted in Family, and Outdoor Adventures

The girls were ready for some more rock climbing so we headed back to Joshua Tree National Park. One of the new (to us) features for the tram is that it rotates in a circle, so you can see views from all sides of the tram. Once we arrived at the top, we took in the…

The Living Desert

Posted in Family, and Outdoor Adventures

On the second day of our vacation, we headed over to The Living Desert. They had a variety of new babies including a baby giraffe and a baby zebra. We all enjoyed seeing the cute babies with their mamas. The baby zebra decided to nurse while we were there. This big horn sheep was sitting up on the hill watching over his girls. When we came back around a little later in the day, he had moved out of the sun and joined the girls in the shade. We were pleasantly surprised that there was a lot of shade at…
