Dirkey is having an Earth Day Contest to encourage us to find joy in the small things in nature. The contest ends today. I took this picture after the morning rain had stopped. There is something absolutely beautiful about the raindrops on a flower. How can you not marvel at the wonders of God’s creation when He takes joy in even the small things in life?

Munchkin and I have decided to participate in this year’s National Turn Off Your TV Week. So, from April 21-27th, we don’t plan on watching any tv at our house. I use videos in our schooling for different subjects, so we’ll even be cutting those out this week. I have to admit that I know we’ll miss watching our Little House on the Prairie episodes. lol! Today, we said goodbye to Munchkin’s pet guinea pig, Clover. She’s been with us for several years, and Munchkin loved playing with her. Munchkin is very much struggling with the loss, and she is dealing with a bit of guilt as she feels like there was something she could have done. (I found her late this afternoon when I went to give them their greens. She hadn’t been sick, so it was unexpected. There is nothing that could have been done.) Today was Munchkin’s first baseball game. She did well even though she really wasn’t feeling well at all. Coach knew that she wasn’t feeling well, so he did his best to make sure that she was ok throughout the game. She sat out the first inning which was good. She played the next 2 innings. (There were only 3 innings.) She played outfield which she enjoyed – other than it being too hot, she said. She was up to bat twice and got base hits both times.
