Saying Goodbye

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

Today, we said goodbye to Munchkin’s pet guinea pig, Clover. She’s been with us for several years, and Munchkin loved playing with her. Munchkin is very much struggling with the loss, and she is dealing with a bit of guilt as she feels like there was something she could have done. (I found her late this afternoon when I went to give them their greens. She hadn’t been sick, so it was unexpected. There is nothing that could have been done.) Our dog and the other guinea pig are rather confused right now as they don’t know what’s going on. While it may seem silly to grieve the loss of a guinea pig, Munchkin’s pain is very real. Please remember her in your prayers.

It’s so hard to lose a pet. I hope Munchkin bounces back quickly.

Saying good bye to a beloved pet is not easy. I was 22 and pregnant when I lost a beloved dog. At the time I thought it was the most awful thing to have ever happened to me. I still remember the loss, June 20,1973. Since then I have lost a lot of others. My beloved grandparents, my father, and several close friends. Grief is grief. I am sorry for her loss and I will remember her in my prayers. Roxie
