Quiche

Posted in Homemaking, and Homeschooling

Thankfully, Munchkin’s feeling better this week. She’s still not 100%, but she’s doing well enough that we’ve started back with school today. After she finished up her regular school work, we decided to tackle last week’s cooking assignment for tonight’s supper. Our assignment/lesson from last week was quiche. Munchkin thought it was cool that we were going to be making something like quiche as it sounds so fancy. Since we’re gluten free, we changed up the recipe a little to make a potato (hash brown) crust instead of using a pie crust. I did this part of the recipe, but…

Sick Little Munchkin

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

Poor Munchkin has been sick since Saturday. She woke up on Saturday not feeling 100%. By the time her basketball game was over, she wasn’t feeling well at all. The last few days have been filled with lots of rest. She only wants to eat fruits and veggies right now. We’ve gone through lots of cucumbers and tomatoes. Today, I was able to pick up some blueberries, strawberries, and a personal watermelon to add some variety. I’m willing to purchase whatever she’s willing to eat. I’ve always appreciated the fact that she loves healthy food. lol!

Ancient Egypt Lapbook

Posted in Homeschooling

On Friday, we completed our month long study of Ancient Egypt. We could have easily spent more time with this unit as there are so many great activities available for Ancient Egypt studies. We enjoyed doing a self-made lapbook to go along with our study. We also did a few notebooking pages and worksheets with this unit. Munchkin enjoyed studying hieroglyphics. We chose the pyramids and sphinx as the cover image as it is one of the classic images of Egypt. Munchkin also says that it reminded her of how hard life must of been for the Israelites under Egyptian…
