Fun before the Goodbye

Posted in Family

Today, we had to say goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa.  D decided to take Grandpa for a spin in the side-by-side before they left.  Then, Grandpa took Grandma for a spin.  Of course, we couldn’t let the opportunity to snap a few pictures pass by, so we took a few pictures in the RZR. It was a tearful goodbye, but we all are very grateful for the time that we were able to spend together.  The house seems much quieter now that our special guests are gone.

Baking, Cooking, and Visiting

Posted in Family

Our Monday was filled with activity. I seemed to spend a good bit of the day in the kitchen. After breakfast, I started a roast with potatoes and carrots in the crockpot. For lunch we enjoyed bacon, lettuce, tomato sandwiches on home baked multi-grain gluten free rolls. Yum! After lunch, I started making another batch of rolls. I seem to be finding myself making these rolls almost every day now that the outside temperatures are below 100 degrees. While the rolls were baking, I mixed up a batch of chocolate chip cookies. Once the cookie dough had rested and the…

Exploring the Imperial Dunes

Posted in Family

We decided to take Grandma and Grandpa over to the Imperial Dunes.  Munchkin can never go to the dunes without exploring at least a little bit. Daddy and Munchkin almost immediately headed off to traverse the dunes.  Grandpa took a few pictures and investigated the area a bit.  Grandma and I watched and had a bit of a snack before heading over to look at the dunes. Munchkin took a moment or two to snap a picture with Grandma.  Then, she was off looking around again. No matter how old he gets, D is still his mom’s “little” boy.  It’s…

Songs for Sunday: In the Blink of an Eye

Posted in Christian Life

In the Blink of an Eye by Mercy Me You put me here for a reason You have a mission for me You knew my name and You called it Long before I learned to breathe Sometimes I feel disappointed By the way I spend my time How can I further Your kingdom When I’m so wrapped up in mine In a Blink of an eye that is when I’ll be closer to You than I’ve ever been Time will fly, but until then I’ll embrace every moment I’m given There’s a reason I’m alive for a blink of an…
