Marine Corps Nomads Posts

Made for Me

Posted in Family, Military Life, and Photography

Project 365 – #229 Growing up, I never imagined that I would be married to an active duty Marine.  That wasn’t even remotely on my radar.  I always thought that I’d live close to family, and that my kids would grow up with my sister’s kids.  We’d have that perfect little house, and my kiddos would grow up doing activities with extended family. Becoming friends with D back in junior high would change my life (for the better) forever.  Even then, he was gung ho Marine Corps.  He loved the idea of serving his country as a Marine.  He and…

BEGIN compiled and edited by Ken Ham and Bodie Hodge As stated on the cover, BEGIN is a journey through scriptures for seekers and new believers. It takes readers through key scripture passages from the beginning of the Bible until the end using the ESV of the Bible: Genesis 1-11 (the Foundation) Exodus 20:1-17 (the Ten Commandments) John (the Gospel) Romans (Letter from Paul to Christians) Revelation 21-22 (the Fulfillment in Heaven) The book begins with some brief commentary that includes places to take notes.  It then goes into the actual scripture passages.  Obviously, since it starts from the beginning,…

Nurturing a Gift

Sam Wright is a police officer who is also a pastor.  He feels called to the ministry, but life’s circumstances lead him to begin to doubt his calling.  When the two are partnered up, they struggle to get along and working together in not…

Crockpot “Roast” Chicken

Posted in Gluten Free, Homemaking, and Photography

Project 365 – #227 Crockpot “Roast” Chicken is a super easy, quick meal that takes very little thought or preparation.  I literally take the whole chicken out of the freezer and put it in the crockpot around lunch time.  I season it generously with whatever seasoning I feel like using.  (I used Emeril’s seasoning blend for this chicken.)  To have the frozen chicken ready by dinner, I put the crockpot on medium or high.  If you want a crispy skin, you can place the cooked bird in the oven for 20-30 minutes prior to serving.  The chicken will fall right…
