Bella Toffee

Posted in Thoughts

Thanks to all of the wonderful people who chose to vote for us in the MamaBuzz Christmas Tree contest, we won 2nd place.  Our prize was toffee from Bella Toffee.  I like toffee, so that worked for me. I was thrilled when our toffee arrived today.  I eagerly opened the priority mail box that was tossed on my doorstep.  (Why they feel the need to toss packages when they are in a hurry is beyond me, but I digress…)  This is what I saw. Isn’t the packaging delightful.  What a wonderful first impression these boxes made.  I carefully opened one…

Ornament Making Party

Posted in Family, Holidays, and Thoughts

Munchkin had decided that she wanted to invite her friends over for an ornament making party. She had all these grand plans in her head, but things didn’t go exactly as planned… The original date for the party fell through, so she decided to invite her friends over on Friday afternoon. Since it was nice out, she set up all of the supplies outside and headed off to gather up her friends from the neighborhood. One friend wasn’t home yet, so they chose to start without her. (She’s not in the picture as she came over after the picture was…

30 Days of Thanksgiving Wrap Up

Posted in Holidays, and Thoughts

Today is the final day of the 30 days of Thanksgiving. I want to thank Karla for starting this idea. It’s so easy to take many things for granted until we start looking how much we really have in our lives. So, while this 30 days may be coming to an end, I don’t want to stop being thankful to my Lord and Savior for the many great things He has done.…

The Gift of Giving

Posted in Holidays, and Thoughts

Have you ever noticed that when you give of yourself or give a gift from the heart, you, the giver, benefit? Today, we finished wrapping up more shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Munchkin joyfully wrote letters to include in each of the shoe boxes hoping that just maybe she’ll get a response from one of the recipients. She would think about how the child would feel about each of the items placed in the boxes. Just like with regular gifts, we took the extra care to place tissue paper in the box around the items to make everything look…

Failures in Life

Posted in Holidays, and Thoughts

I truly believe that the Lord wanted me to take to heart this compiled list of failures as in the last week I have received it several times via email, and I just read it in the book I am reading.  I thought I would share… Einstein was four years old before he could speak. Isaac Newton did poorly in grade school and was considered “unpromising”. When Thomas Edison was a youngster, his teacher told me he was too stupid to learn anything. He was counseled to go into a field where he might succeed by virtue of his pleasant…
