Made for Me

Project 365 – #229 Growing up, I never imagined that I would be married to an active duty Marine.  That wasn’t even remotely on my radar.  I always thought that I’d live close to family, and that my kids would grow up with my sister’s kids.  We’d have that perfect little house, and my kiddos would grow up doing activities with extended family. Nurturing a Gift

Project 365 – #228 One of the benefits of homeschooling is the opportunity to nurture gifts, talents, and passions in our kids.  Munchkin thoroughly enjoys drawing and animals.  As time passes, she’s started to narrow down her interest in animals to a passion about horses.  Today, she drew this picture of a horse, Man ‘O War, from the Black Stallion book series.  This is her vision of what he would have looked like.  I love watching her grow in her drawing skills.  She does not get these skills from me.  They definitely come from Daddy and his side of the…

Crockpot “Roast” Chicken

Project 365 – #227 Crockpot “Roast” Chicken is a super easy, quick meal that takes very little thought or preparation.  I literally take the whole chicken out of the freezer and put it in the crockpot around lunch time.  I season it generously with whatever seasoning I feel like using.  (I used Emeril’s seasoning blend for this chicken.)  To have the frozen chicken ready by dinner, I put the crockpot on medium or high.  If you want a crispy skin, you can place the cooked bird in the oven for 20-30 minutes prior to serving.  The chicken will fall right…

Evening Rodeo

Project 365 – #225 As you can see, we really were quite busy (in a fun way) on our vacation with our family.  While we were in Cave Creek, we heard that they had bull riding twice a week in the evenings, so one night, we decided to head on over and check it out.  I ended up with tons of pictures as I tried out different features on my camera, but I’ll spare you the gazillion pictures.  **grin**   It didn’t cost anything to get in to watch the cowboys ride.  They did offer various drinks as well as a…
