Valentine’s Party

Thankfully, the bad weather held off long enough for us to have the Valentine’s Party today. Munchkin was soooo excited. We spent the morning working on schoolwork and Valentine’s activities. I’ll post pictures tomorrow of some of our activities… After lunch, we headed over to the party. Here’s the cake that we ended up taking. Nothing special, but I think it turned out nicely. This week’s tackle it has everything to do with Valentine’s Day. I have lots of prep to do in order to get ready for the big day. I love going all out for Valentine’s Day for the family. Tomorrow is the homeschool Valentine’s party. As you know, munchkin has worked hard making over 65 Valentine’s cards, and she’s really looking forward to the party. They have sooo much fun. They make bags for their Valentine’s and then head around the room dropping Valentine’s into each bag. They play Valentine’s bingo for cute stuffed animals. They have a book exchange. This year, a local pizza parlor is donating pizzas and drinks to go along with the normal goodies that everyone brings in to share. The Calzones turned out wonderfully. Both D and Munchkin really enjoyed them (which says a lot as munchkin can be picky when it comes to new things). Munchkin helped me make the calzones which ended up being a lot of fun. It’s always enjoyable when you can enjoy cooking with your child. This is a really easy recipe that begs for kid involvement.
