Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

I have to admit that I’m particularly proud of this recipe because it’s the first gluten free recipe that I’ve created from scratch myself. It turned out well and you can’t tell that the cookies are gluten free. Yum! Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies Ingredients: ¾ C Crisco1 ¼ C light brown sugar2 Tbsp milk1 Tbsp vanilla1 Egg¾ C brown rice flour¾ C white rice flour¼ C tapioca flour½ tsp xanthum gum1 tsp salt¾ tsp baking soda1 ½ C chocolate chips Directions: 1.Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.2.Cream together Crisco, sugar, milk, and vanilla3.Beat in egg until fluffy4.Combine flours, xanthum…

Thankful Thursday

This week I am very thankful for all of the kindness, warm responses, and prayers that I have received from my fellow bloggers. We greatly appreciate all of the kind comments that you have left. I am grateful that although D will be deploying we still have some time before he leaves. Granted, he will not be here in the same state with us for the next few months, but there is a good chance that we’ll still get to spend some time together on some weekends. Free Slurpee Day

Just a reminder to all: July 11th is once again Slurpee day – a wonderful day to celebrate the creation of the Slurpee. This year, as in the years before, 7-Eleven stores will be handing out 1000 free 7.11oz Slurpees from 7am until 11pm (or until supplies last). Yay! Free Slurpee!!!!
