Honoring a Fallen Marine

On Monday, April 21, 2008, 1st Lt. Matthew Vandegrift, USMC, 28, was killed during combat operations in Basra. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Camp Lejeune, N.C. Matthew Vandegrift grew up in Austin, Texas, and graduated with honors in 2005 from Texas A&M University with a degree in international business. His family, of Littleton, said he loved hanging out with friends, playing video games and watching movies. He also had a great sense of humor and loved making people laugh… …His family is relying on their Christian faith…

Tornadoes & Prayers

Yesterday, our area was hit hard by tornadoes. We live in an area that rarely sees bad tornadoes, so this was quite a shock. We’re use to hurricanes, but not tornadoes. The devastation is so sad. Amazingly, there have been no fatalities reported. Here is just one of the photos that was sent in by viewers of our local tv station: Click on image to see more photos and footage… One of the homes of Munchkin’s teammate was damaged in the tornado. They’re ok, thankfully. We’re still hearing things as reports trickle in. Some areas have been evacuated for safety…

Today’s Baseball Game

Well, the temps are slowly creeping up and the games are getting hotter. I have a slight sunburn to show for it too. The game went well today. The funny thing is neither team of kids has any idea who won today. They were all having too much fun just playing. Here are a few pictures of Munchkin from today’s game.
