Where have I been? We have been very, very busy doing projects around the house. D has redone the floors in both bathrooms. I’ve repainted the bathrooms. D redid the door frame to Munchkin’s room (it was a mess) and rehung the door in the other direction. I stained the new door frame. D built desks for Munchkin and I and a new shoe cabinet for the entryway. I’m working on getting those things painted. D built two drawers for my kitchen cabinet. Munchkin had fun creating this for Daddy’s lunch today.
Our online cooking class lesson for this week is burgers and sweet potato fries. Instead of just using hamburger, Munchkin combined sausage and hamburger with some diced onions to make the patties. I chopped up the sweet potatoes, and Munchkin added the seasoning and prepared them for baking. Munchkin then made the barbecue sauce. When Daddy came home, he grilled the burgers. Munchkin decided that she likes these burgers and bbq sauce. In fact, she wanted another burger when she finished the first one!! I think there is something special about making things yourself. Thankfully, Munchkin’s feeling better this week. She’s still not 100%, but she’s doing well enough that we’ve started back with school today. After she finished up her regular school work, we decided to tackle last week’s cooking assignment for tonight’s supper. Our assignment/lesson from last week was quiche. Munchkin thought it was cool that we were going to be making something like quiche as it sounds so fancy.
