Major James Matthew Weis, USMC 1972-2010 On Thursday, July 22, 2010, Major James Matthew Weis, USMC, 37 was killed during combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.   He was assigned to Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force, based in Camp Pendleton, CA. Major Weis grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Toms River North High School.  He earned a degree from Rutgers University.  He joined the Marine Corps in 1994 and was commissioned as an officer in 1996.  He was a highly decorated Cobra pilot. Curriculum: Choices, Choices, Choices

At the end of June, I wrote about our planned curriculum choices for the new year.  While most things are staying the same, it looks like we may be changing our math curriculum.  We’re going to be trying out Life of Fred for math.  While we both like Teaching Textbooks, some changes needed to be made.  We may end up going to back to Teaching Textbooks.  Right now, I’m just in a wait and see mode.
