Gluten Free Cinnamon Raisin Biscuits with Orange Icing

Posted in Gluten Free, and Homemaking

Time for a tasty treat that works well for breakfast or just a snack. While the biscuits themselves are not really sweet, adding the icing does up the sweetness factor. Gluten Free Cinnamon Raisin Biscuits with Orange Icing Ingredients: 3 cups Pamela’s Baking Mix 1 cup vanilla almond milk (I used shelf-stable Silk brand) 3/4 cup butter, melted 1/4 cup coconut sugar 2 Tbsp cinnamon 1/2 cup raisins (I used 1/4 golden raisins and 1/4 cup regular raisins.) 1/4 cup powdered sugar orange juice 1/4 tsp vanilla Directions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F In a large mixing bowl, combine…

2012 MCAS Yuma Air Show

Posted in Military Life, and Photography

The skies were clouded over on Saturday morning which is not normal for our area. The forecast called for rain in the afternoon – another rare occurrence here. Normally, this wouldn’t be anything to be concerned about, but today was the day for the air show. I hoped that the cloud cover would not cause any issues for the air show attendees. Once Munchkin and I were up and about, we walked over to the air show. Daddy was already over there as he had driven over earlier, so I gave him a call once we arrived. We met up near the entrance…

Gluten Free Peanut Butter Bars

Gluten Free Peanut Butter Bars Recipe Ingredients: 2 cups almond flour 1 cup butter (I used salted as I wanted some of that saltiness) 1 cup peanut…

Our Crazy Military Life: Another Change

Life as a military family is never dull. Nope… It’s always filled with interesting twists and turns that keep you on your toes. When we learned that there was the possibility that we’d be receiving orders to Okinawa, Japan, our family groaned as this was not in our plans. There was still the chance that we’d be sent somewhere else, so we just let things be. Then, we found out that we were indeed receiving orders there, so my mindset completely changed. It appeared that our plans were not the Lord’s plans. I had to embrace this new reality and…

Awesome Science: Yellowstone

During my first review of Awesome Science: Explore the Grand Canyon with Noah Justice, I introduced you to 14-year-old Noah Justice the host of the Awesome Science video series. In the second video of this series, Noah takes us to Wyoming to visit America’s first national park, Yellowstone. Yellowstone is one of the national parks that is still on our “to visit” list. In Exploring Yellowstone with Noah Justice, Noah continues with his educational yet entertaining presentation style as he compares the two different views of the Yellowstone. The video itself is a good quality production. Noah’s Dad, Kyle Justice,…
