Fit Mommy Friday: Body Gospel Check-In 1

Posted in Fitness, and Reviews

Fit Mommy FridayIt’s hard to believe that I’ve been doing the Body Gospel Fitness program for 2 weeks now.  Today is the last day to sign up to win your own Body Gospel Fitness program, so hop on over and enter to win.

I missed the check-in last week due to just being to busy to post, so I’m going to do a summary of what the past 2 weeks has looked like for me.  So far, I’ve used the following fitness programs within the Body Gospel Program:

Body Revival: 30 minute calorie-burning workout

Core Revelation: 20 minute toning workout using the Body Gospel Bands to target abs, back, thighs, and buns

Stretch in the Spirit: gentle routine for increasing flexibility (and stretching sore muscles!!)

Power and Praise: 35 minute interval workout to burn fat, build strength and stamina, tone muscle.

Week One:

  • Day One – Body Revival: I was able to do about 15 minutes of the program before my body said no more.  I did the modified level to keep at a pace that was okay for me.
  • Day Two – Core Revelation: I was able to do the most of the workout, but I quickly realized the my core muscles are not what they use to be.  Once again, I did the modified level.
  • Day Three – Body Revival: I did almost 20 minutes of the program this time, but I was very sore after I completed that much of the program.  Walking up the steps after that was a little painful. lol!
  • Day Four – Stretch in the Spirit: This was wonderful!  Stretching out those sore muscles felt so good.  I enjoy stretching, so this was a nice change of pace.
  • Day Five – Body Revival: I was able to complete around 15 minutes of the program.  It’s going to take some time to build up to being able to do the full workout.
  • I took the weekend off.  This is set up to be a 6 day a week program, but that won’t work for me.  I’ll be working out only 5 days.

Week Two:

  • Day One – Body Revival: I quickly found that my body doesn’t recover like it use to. lol!  I was able to get through about 15 minutes.
  • Day Two – Power & Praise: This seriously was kicking my rear.  I completed about 15 minutes before I literally couldn’t do any more.
  • Day Three: I missed my workout as we weren’t home.  I did get exercise – just not in the form of the program. I’m bummed because it was the stretching day (or core day).
  • Day Four: This was my second day of missing a workout.  Once again, I just wasn’t able to fit the program into my day.  I did get exercise in, but not the program.
  • Day Five: I will be getting in my exercise today.  Since I’ve missed 2 days this week, I will be doing the Body Revival instead of the stretching scheduled for today.

I’ve learned that I really like having the schedule laid out for me.  I don’t look at what is next on the schedule.  I just focus on the current day.  For whatever reason, this works for me.  I’m enjoying the upbeat gospel music.  The journal for the program includes a message for the day, a prayer, a verse, a place to record your goals/thoughts/achievements (goal tracker), and a little checklist.  At the beginning of the week, there is a place for you to write down 3 spiritual goals, 3 fitness goals, and 3 personal goals for the week.

While I haven’t given up my Dr. Pepper, I am drinking a lot more water.  My eating habits are pretty consistent with what they were before since we were already eating an overall healthy diet.

I received a copy of Body Gospel for the purpose of review. All opinions are my own. No other compensation was received. Your results may vary.
