Betty Jane over at Have I Told You Lately Has Posed these questions for us this week: In a world where technology continues to advance rapidly I find we use email more and more. Do you think email communications are the most effective means of communication? Why or why not? What are the risks?

I personally feel the email communications are the most effective means of communication. You can communicate at any time of day or night. You don’t need to worry about if you’re inconveniencing the person on the receiving end as you would with a phone call or visit. It is sent immediately, so you don’t have to wait for postal delivery.

The drawbacks of email is that there is no guarantee that your communications will stay private. You also run the risk of someone not understanding the tone in your email. It’s easier to have miscommunication via email as you can not here the tone in the person’s voice or see their facial expressions.

It’s still great to receive a letter/card in the mail or pick up the phone for a good conversation, but I think email is an excellent form of communication.
