Since Christmas, our reading as a family and individual reading time really has dropped. We were having so much fun reading a book together each evening. When I ran across this challenge at Jennifer’s blog Snapshot, I thought it was a perfect motivation tool for myself. If you think that you would like to join in, head on over to here blog to learn more.
Our goal is to read together each evening. I want to get back to reading the Narnia series. We were reading it faithfully each day, but we stopped around Christmas time. Now, it’s February and we haven’t started back up yet. So, my more concrete goal will be to read one chapter a day. Ideally, we will read together in the evening, but since D won’t always be around, we may just do it during the day.
I also want to work more on our individual reading. My plan is to set aside a certain amount of time (probably 30 minutes) for reading on our own each day.
I will post updates on how we are doing throughout the next month.
What a great idea! Thanks for letting us know about it. And thanks for letting me know about that radio link!! We have been reading through the Narnia series too! We are currently on The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader. Hubby reads to the girls right before bed every evening for about 30-45 minutes. It is great!
Reading seems like such a hard thing to fit in with littler ones around. I had been reading Charlotte’s Web with my 4yo and we were doing well, but then stopped. Hopefully you’re motivation will get me going!
I saw you have Power of a Praying Parent on your reading list. Mine is still sitting on my desk, but I hope to start it soon.
Sounds great! Keep us posted.
We’re working our way through Narnia too. The boys really enjoy the stories but weren’t too keen on the movie.
I checked out your oatmeal bread recipe as well as your spaghetti sauce – they both sound delicious! I’m going to test them out on my family this weekend!
