It’s hard to believe that we’re already entering into the third week of November. Where has the time gone? Before we know it, another year will have passed.
D was scheduled for shoulder surgery at the beginning of last week, but it had to be postponed due to some complications that arose. As it turns out, physical therapy can, at times, do more harm than good. His shoulder is now frozen which means they need to delay the surgery until he gets full movement back. While this was not good news, it did allow us to spend more time together this past week. He was also able to get a few things done on his day off.
I’m thankful that we live in the desert and close to Munchkin’s college as it means that Munchkin can drive the RZR to school thanks to having dirt all the way there. It’s a definite plus when her truck isn’t operational yet. We spent a little time this past week getting the RZR fixed up so it’s a little more comfortable for her commute. It now features a clear back panel to block the dirt/wind/hay and real doors instead of nets which she loves.
While both Daddy and daughter have been swamped with school, things have been going well for them. I’m proud of them both, and I’m thankful they have this opportunity. It’s fun watching them encourage each other along this crazy educational journey. I know that Munchkin is helped by watching the things that Daddy deals with day to day with balancing school, work, and home life. D finds sharing this adventure with Munchkin has allowed him to better deal with many of the challenges he faces. He knows the Munchkin watches how he handles the rough patches.
With all of the ups and downs that we’ve experienced, I’m very thankful that we have a warm place to stay, clothes on our back, food on the table, clean water to drink, and vehicles for transportation. I am thankful that we’re together as a family.
