I have to admit that I really thought that by now I would be able to put weight on my ankle, but alas, that it is not the case. The good news is that I am making progress.
This week, the swelling has really gone down as has the pain level. Those improvements have lead to more ankle and foot mobility which is wonderful.
Rehab is painful, but progress is being made. Flexing exercises aren’t nearly as painful, and I can flex much further than last week. I have a little side to side movement which was non-existent last week. I’m continuing to add new rehab exercises to my routine as my pain level allows.
I’m sporting new ankle hardware which will help stabilize the ankle when it can finally bear weight. I’m hoping that next week will find me able to walk at least some without crutches.
I’m working on adding more movement and stretches into my day. Going on 1 month of crutches has taken a toll on me physically and mentally, so I’m trying to focus on staying in good spirits despite my limited mobility.
Munchkin continues to make us good meals for which I’m quite grateful.
