I really like my silicone oven mitts, but they don’t work as well for tasks that require me to grab something smaller. Right now, I’m doing a lot of canning, so I needed something that would allow me to safely turn the knobs on my pressure canner as well as grab jars, if necessary. Since my silicone oven mitts worked for the heat aspect (just not the small detail aspect), I knew that I wanted to test out some silicone gloves. I was happy to receive the AYL® silicone gloves to test out in my kitchen.
The AYL® silicone gloves are heat resistant up to 425 degrees F. They are waterproof and easy to clean. I love that I can wash these whenever I need, and I don’t have to wait for them to dry to continue to use them. (If desired, you can even toss these in the dishwasher, but I just wash them like I would wash my hands.) They have a good grip to them which means that I can where them and not worry about something slipping out of my hand. Because they are gloves, I’m able to easily pick up smaller items as well as turn the hot knobs on my pressure canner.
The only thing that I’m missing from my silicone oven mitts with these gloves is the liner. I prefer to have a liner as it offers a bit more protection when using something like my cast iron skillet. It does not provide the protection that I want when I need to hold on to something for any length of time. That being said, not have a liner means that I don’t have to be concerned with the liner getting wet when washing the gloves.
The gloves work for everyone in my family which means they work for small hands and large hands. Obviously, they fit us all a bit differently, but but we’re all able to use them with no issues. I can easily slip in and out of the gloves, but my husband has to actually pull them off as they are a more fitted on him.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
