Beowulf

Beowulf Book Description:

Beowulf—a hulky, brindle-coated bullmastiff—is the only “boy” for Timbrel Hogan. And she has a history to remind her why. But when Timbrel, a handler at A Breed Apart, embarks on a mission to detect WMDs in Afghanistan, she reunites with Tony “Candyman” VanAllen and her no-other-man philosophy is challenged. While tension mounts between Timbrel and Tony, the team comes under fire after Beowulf gets a “hit.” When tragedy threatens Tony’s career and Timbrel’s courage, they must maneuver through an intricate plot and a mission like no other. . . .

My Thoughts:

Beowulf is the third book in the A Breed Apart series about military working dogs and their handlers. Timbrel, the tough as nails former Navy handler, is not sure about being thrown back into the thick of action with her equally tough working dog, Beowulf – especially with Tony “Candyman” VanAllen playing a key role in the mission. Beowulf gets an explosive hit in a bookstore which sends Timbrel and Tony’s lives (and careers) into a spiral.

Ronie has done it again with this fast-paced, action-packed suspense novel that filled with adventure, intrigue, faith, and romance. Her knowledge and passion for the military and working dogs shines through in this story.
