Between the archery and Munchkin’s knight costume, it’s probably no surprise that Munchkin likes the medieval time period. She’s always thought that sword fighting was rather cool, so when I saw high impact practice long swords on sale, I knew that I had the perfect Christmas present for Daddy and Daughter. It was hard keeping the secret from the two of them as I was really excited. 😉
I saved that present for last, and I’m glad that I did as the swords were a huge hit. I did have to tell them that sword play was reserved for outside. **grin** After lunch, they headed outside to practice. It was fun watching them practice offensive and defensive moves. It’s been decided that I need to look for some videos on how to use a sword, so they can have more realistic practice sessions in the future.
They were both pleased at how realistic the swords felt in their hands. I have a feeling that these swords will be getting lots of use over the next few months at the very least. 🙂
