Last week, an unexpected sequence of events lead to Munchkin becoming owner of Dixie. She isn’t living at our rental house as it’s not a horse property, but when the time is right, she will be coming home to live with us. Needless to say, Munchkin was thrilled when she was given this opportunity.
On Friday, Munchkin decided to work on her bareback riding skills, and because she wanted to work on her leg cues, she decided that she would also go without a halter and reins.
It was fun watching them working together to figure out how to work together.
Munchkin enjoys riding bareback in the round pen as it allows her to connect more with her horse.
Later, after exercising and a big meal, Dixie decided to relax for a while.
In fact, she was so relaxed at one point they she laid completely down and had Munchkin rubbing her belly like a dog. It was too cute and funny. These two certainly have a special connection.
Nothing can beat the bond between a horse and their rider when it’s strong. So glad to see your daughter has that relationship with her horse. It will definitely help her in so many ways!!
