My Thoughts:

On this VeggieTales dvd, Bob and Larry are combining Biblical parables and nursery rhymes.

The Little House That Stood was a fun story about the importance of building a strong foundation. This play on the classic 3 Little Pigs nursery rhyme helps kids understand the Biblical concept of “a wise man builds his house upon a rock”. In classic VeggieTales style, it incorporates colorful imagery and lively songs. The nod to Bob the Builder was not lost on us as Munchkin watched this show quite a bit when she was younger. We enjoyed this particular episode.

The Silly Songs with Larry wasn’t one of our favorite Silly Songs, but it was okay. Larry was celebrating his tooth birthday since he only has one tooth.

The second episode on this dvd was an interesting twist on nursery rhymes revolving around the town that Humpty Dumpty lived in. We found the whining of the town people to be annoying, so this episode was not our favorite. Even though it wasn’t a favorite for us, it was put together well. This episode was meant to portray the parable of the Good Samaratan, but we felt it fell a little sort in that regards. The characters were adorable, and the lesson about the importance of friends/neighbors was carried out in an interesting manner.
