It’s been a rather difficult week around here due to the loss of our dog and the passing of our grandpa.
Needless to say, fitness turned away from exercising and drinking enough water to more of a survival mode. I needed to make sure that I continued to eat and eat healthy during this time of grieving. My exercise for the beginning of the week consisted of some walking and carrying around our sweet dog around and up and down stairs… The second half of the week my exercise consisted of lots of house cleaning. (I like to cope with hard things by staying busy. Plus, there were many things that needed to be done around the house due to the events earlier in the week.) I am pleased to say that I have not had any Dr. Pepper all week which given how crazy our week is a pretty big accomplishment in and of itself.
Thankfully, I there are other members of our Kick-Start Fitness team, so there are more chances to be inspired this week. We all keep things real when it comes to our check-ins (which I love), so you can see all of our ups and downs in our fitness journey. Head on over and see how the rest of the team is doing this week.

It’s so true that staying fit doesn’t always mean workouts. Sometimes it means doing our best to survive, and trying hard!
You did great!

No Dr. Pepper with the week you had is huge! I hope things get easier each day. Hopefully, some exercise will help you clear your mind for a little bit. Hugs!

No Dr Pepper!?!?!?! Great job! Prayers to your family as you continue the grieving process.
To stay healthy during the holidays I take afternoon walks limit sugary dessert intake and do yoga more often
I am a Dr.Pepper lover myself!
I am sorry for your loss
My daughter loves Silk. Thanks for the giveaway.

We just had our third child dx with a milk protein allergy today (he’s 4 weeks old). The other two are 8 & 10. We go through a lot of Silk milk here!
That’s a difficult situation. At least you have the dx – the not knowing is so hard.
I am impressed that you made it through such a difficult time without the comfort of Dr. Pepper. Well done.. 🙂

I love soy milk. The chocolate flavor tastes like Yoo Hoo. And I’ve recently found a bunch of recipes from hungry girl that use soy milk. It’s important to stay active during the winter months but that can be difficult to do can’t it? I think that maybe we forget all those simple exercises we did as children. Jumping jacks, situps, and push ups don’t take much time and require no special equipment. And you can do them anywhere!

We’ve used soy milk for years — first for my son who had a severe milk allergy and now just for myself. My youngest daughter uses the silk coconut milk (avoiding both milk and soy).

We love almond and coconut milk. My tip for eating healthy is to convince your husband to NOT bring home ice cream!! That is my downfall and he recently bought two cartons home. Thankfully they’re both gone now so I can get back on track!

I was raised ovo-lacto vegetarian and remember drinking soy milk when the only kind was a powder that didn’t mix with water very well. We were so happy when Silk appeared on the scene, and we have been Silk drinkers for a long time.
Sometimes it is the little things you do that have such a big impact on our health (physical, mental or emotional.)

During the holidays, I try to keep up with some kind of exercise routine…no matter how pressed for time I am! 🙂
I love Silk! We use it on cereal and in our morning smoothies! Try the vanilla for great flavor!
my tip is to drink a big glass of water before each meal, so you will full and don’t eat as much
Make sure to drink lots of water!
I think the best way to stay healthy is to make time for yourself.
I am also sorry for your loss. I am trying to cut back now that the holidays are over by increasing my fruits and veggies and water, cutting back on my Coke Zero’s, and also increasing yogurt intake. We have read some research that says if you have 2 or more yogurts per day the bacteria’s in them help to counter the bad bacteria in your body which then over time help you become thinner.

My mom drinks Silk’s Very Vanilla flavor like it’s going out of style! I’m a fan of the original, since I don’t drink milk.

Love Silk Milk! During the holidays I try not too focus too much on limiting because then I tend to overindulge. If I’m going to a party where I know there will be treats I make sure to eat an actual meal before going.
For a long time I have struggled with depression and anxiety. My Dr. has encouraged me to start an exercise plan to improve my physical and mental health. I will be following you, looking for inspiration.
Thanks for entering me!
we love silk milk!
so many special holiday treats – we can enjoy them but we have to be in control of the serving size and frequency of treats. Keep the healthy fruit and veggie intake to balance out the treats
I’m so proud of you 🙂 I don’t know what I’d do without my daily Coca-Cola fix.

I just read a great tip recently. Gently encourage guests to congregate in the living room instead of the kitchen. It will encourage less snacking.
