Zumba SticksProject 365 – #154

Well, I’ve officially jumped on the Zumba bandwagon.  I’m not going to classes, but I’m doing Zumba at home.  I’m only on the beginner stuff, and I’m already getting quite the workout.  It’s something completely different for me, and I’m having lots of fun.  (I’m using the Zumba Fitness Exhilarate: The Ultimate Experience DVD Set.)

It’s definitely not for everyone, and if you have boys in the house, you may decide not to have them around due to the attire and moves.  I’m on my own while doing it which works for me.

I have a feeling that it’s going to take me some time to get use to all of the moves.  The nice thing about the program that I’m using is that it has a beginner dvd which teaches all of the different types.  They’re broken down step by step – totally need that.

Have you ever done Zumba either at home or gone to classes?  I’d love to hear about your experiences.

  1. I LOVE Zumba. At home is fun, but the class is better!

    • I don’t think I could keep up at a class – at least not at this point in time. lol!

  2. I once tried the DVDs a few years ago (3-4 I think) but sold them due to what you said about moves and attire. Just this year we started having classes held locally & I am completely hooked. I ended up buying a couple DVDs of the classes so I can do it at home (no issues with attire) and I even bought the Wii game. SO FUN! Enjoy! I’ve lost a lot of inches and toned up a bunch! 😉

    • That’s cool that you were able to attend classes and get dvds where there isn’t an attire issue. 🙂

I’ve heard the Wii Zumba doesn’t track movement very well, so it can be frustrating. Do you like it?

    • The funny this is that I’m having an easier time with Zumba than I do with step aerobics. I stink at step aerobics for whatever the reason. lol!

    • I just posted a link to the set that I’m using. I’ve just started, but I really like how it has beginner dvds that break down all of the steps. It gives me a chance to learn things before having to jump into the full routine.

  5. I’m wondering if there’s anywhere online where we can catch a glimpse or sample of that DVD set. Do you happen to know? It would be helpful to preview a little bit of it first before buying it. Maybe I’ll take a peek on YouTube to see if anything comes up. Thank you for posting the link!
