Project 365 – #104
Is it by your understanding that the hawk soars
and spreads his wings toward the south?
Is it at your command that the eagle mounts up
and makes his nest on high?
On the rock he dwells and makes his home,
on the rocky crag and stronghold.
From there he spies out the prey;
his eyes behold it from far away.
~Job 39:26-29~
There is something majestic about a hawk soaring overhead. The hawks ride the currents – drifting up, down, and side-to-side. While the hawks are being carried by the wind, they are closely scanning the ground below to find their next meal. I enjoy just watching them high above. We had the pleasure of watching quite a few different hawks (and vultures) while we were out hiking.
Munchkin says it would be fun to be able to fly and soar like a bird, but I don’t think she’s quite wanting to try something like hang gliding. I think, at this point in time, the idea of flying is more appealing than the actual act. **grin**
Even though Munchkin may not be ready (or wanting) to take the plunge and physically soar above the desert valleys, she is definitely getting to the age where she is testing out her wings. Part of me wants to clip her wings and keep her from flying away. The other part wants to teach her to capture the right currents to send her in the proper direction. As she stretches out her wings and starts to learn to fly, I pray for wisdom as I prepare her properly for the crazy flight of life.
Almost looks like my WW shot yesterday!
Beautiful…
Great capture!
