The Ark Encounter

Posted in Christian Life, and Thoughts

Ark Encounter Grounds

Have you heard that Answers in Genesis had undertaken a new project?  They are currently working on raising funds to create The Ark Encounter.  The Ark Encounter is going to have a full scale Ark replica.  In addition, the Ark Encounter will have eight other Biblical attractions which include a Walled City, the Tower of Babel, a first-century Middle Eastern village, a journey in history from Abraham to the parting of the Red Sea, a walk-through aviary, a large petting zoo, and much more.

The Ark Encounter is going to be built completely out of wood by skilled craftsman who will use wooden pegs, planks, and structural beams.  People have the opportunity to be part of this project by purchasing pegs ($100), planks ($1,000), and beams ($5,000) which will be used in the actual ark.  (There are 10-month payment plans available.)  You can also make any size donation to help out.  Even if you’re unable to help out financially, you can keep the project in your prayers.  It has the opportunity to be a huge outreach ministry.

The Ark Encounter is going to be about 40 minutes from the Creation Museum in Kentucky, so visitors will be able to take advantage of both of these wonderful resources.  Places like the Creation Museum and the future Ark Encounter offer an opportunity to physically interact and learn about the Bible.  They help the Bible to come to life.

Obviously, something of this scale is going to need lots of funds and loads of prayers as it moves forward.  With the current economy, I know that funds are tight, so the Lord will really need to move to allow the funds to be available for The Ark Encounter to open in the spring of 2014.

Munchkin is pretty excited about the idea of being able to visit a full sized replica of the Ark as well as visit the Tower of Babel and the other Biblical attractions.  We’ve been blessed by the Answers in Genesis ministry as well as the Creation Museum, and we’re sure that others will be blessed by this new project.
