Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
~Psalm 46:10~
Sometimes life can be difficult and filled with trials, yet, the Lord is always with us. Listening to beautiful, soulful music can help quiet our hearts and minds. With the holidays upon us, we need to make sure we take time to be still and listen to the Lord. We don’t want to miss His guidance and comfort in our lives because we were too busy to listen.
We need to listen to the Lord and approach Him with childlike awe and wonder.
We need to have faith and hope like a child.
This young lady, Rhema, lost her mom to ovarian cancer when she was only 6 years old. She knows all too well the pain and trials that this world holds, yet she has chosen not to allow bitterness to enter her heart. Instead, she wants to spread the wonderful news of her Savior’s love. We can learn so much from children.
And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. ~Matthew 18:2-4~
Note to God
Rhema Marvanne
If I wrote a note to God
I would speak what’s in my soul
I’d ask for all the hate to be swept away
For love to overflow
If I wrote a note to God
I’d pour my heart out on each page
I’d ask for war to end
and for peace to mend this world
I’d say
I’d say
I’d say
Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love, cause love is overdue
And it seems like so much is going wrong
On this road we’re on
If I wrote a note to God
I’d say please help us find a way
End all the bitterness, put some tenderness
in our hearts
I’d say
I’d say
I’d say
Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love, cause love is overdue
And it looks like we haven’t got a clue
Need some help from you
Grant us the faith to carry on
Give us hope when it seems all hope is gone
Cause it seems like so much is going wrong
On this road we’re on
No
No
We can’t do it on our own
So
So
(Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love, cause love is overdue)
And it looks like we haven’t got a clue
Need some help
Grant us the faith to carry on
Hope when it seems all hope is gone
Cause it seems like so much is going wrong
On this road we’re on
No
No
(No)We can’t do it on our own
(So)
So
If I wrote a note to God
One of the things that I find I need to do during the holidays (and throughout the year) is spend time exclusively with the Lord – praying, being still, listening. If I forget to take the time out of my schedule to really focus on Him, things around me tend to start falling apart, and my home is not a peaceful sanctuary for my family. It’s not a bad idea to write a letter to God because it makes us sit down and really think about what we are saying to Him.

Oh, dear. Let’s see.. 3 Kleenex. Thank you. You’re right. If there were as many letters to God as there are to Santa, what a wonderful world it would be.
