Cause and EffectAdventures in Odyssey: Cause & Effect

Audio Cd Description:

It’s all-new Adventures in Odyssey episodes in volume 52, Cause & Effect. Join Eugene and Matthew as they investigate why the clock tower at City Hall seems to be counting down to a mysterious deadline. Could it have something to do with the anniversary of a lost love from twenty years ago? Barrett couldn’t be more excited about getting the lead role in the school play. But when his first practice is interrupted by a mysterious booming voice, Emily Jones must investigate the ‘phantom of the school play.’ Also, perfect for the holiday season, are stories on Thanksgiving (‘A Thankstaking Story’) and Christmas (‘Grandma’s Christmas Visit’).

My Thoughts:

We enjoy listening to Adventures in Odyssey when we head on road trips, so I was excited about hearing the latest cd – Cause & Effect. While there are new voices and characters, these episodes did not disappoint. In true Adventures in Odyssey fashion, there was adventure, suspense, and a good lesson for most of the episodes.  (Wooton’s Broken Pencil Show, while crazy and enjoyable, did not have the normal lesson in it which was kind of the point of the show episode.)

This collection (album #52) features 12 all-new episodes on 4 cds for over 5 hours of audio entertainment.  Certain episodes will resonate better with older or younger kids, but even D and I enjoy Adventures in Odyssey.

  • The Mystery of the Clock Tower Part 1 & 2: The clock tower at city hall is counting down to a mysterious deadline. Will they discover the answers in time?
  • Wooton’s Broken Pencil Show: Wooton steps in to help out with Connie’s Kids’ Radio Show. Will his show ever get to the point?
  • Stage Fright: The school play practices are interrupted by mysterious happenings. Will the show be able to go on?
  • Fast As I Can: Whit inspires Wooton, Eugene, Connie, and Matthew to fast for the week.  What will they learn from their week of fasting?
  • Opposite Day: Opposite Day at Odyssey Middle School is a fun part of spirit week, but can it be taken to far?
  • The Owlnapping: The Odyssey Middle School mascot has gone missing. Is the mascot really a good luck charm?
  • Square One: When Matthew joins a mysterious new club, Emily decides that she needs to get to the bottom of things.
  • A Thankstaking Story: Whit and the gang come up with a crazy story while stuck at Whit’s End on a snowy Thanksgiving Day.
  • An Agreeable Nanny: The Parker kids feel they don’t need a babysitter, but are they really responsible enough to be left alone?
  • The Malted Milkball Falcon: When a pinata goes missing, Emily Jones decides that she needs to solve the case of the missing pinata.
  • Grandma’s Christmas Visit: The Parker family is trying to figure out if Christmas can really be stress free.  Grandma’s visit helps them focus on the true meaning of Christmas.

Adventures in Odyssey would be great for all of the holiday travels.
