Staying at home means that I don’t have to worry about taking time off if Munchkin is sick. Homeschooling means that Munchkin is not missing school when she’s ill. Staying home for both of us means more flexibility and free time.
It’s not always easy to be a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom, but even on the rough days, I find joy in spending time with Munchkin. She can be driving me batty, but one bat of those beautiful blue sparkly eyes tends to make the tension start to dissipate. What a blessing to be able to watch her grow up.
I’m there for the important moments of her life. I’m able to share in the excitement of a successful project. I can hold her tight when life throws her a curve ball, and she needs a shoulder to cry on. I have the privilege of taking care of her whether she’s healthy or sick.
While I’m certainly not the best housekeeper (I’d much rather be in the kitchen cooking), I do enjoy taking care of our home. It’s nice to be able to make it a comfortable place where D can relax when he comes home from work. I enjoy making him food and bringing it to him in the evenings while he unwinds from the work day. I love being able to express my love for D and Munchkin through the gift of gluten free food and homebaked goodies.
Staying at home and taking care of my family is a simple joy and pleasure in my life. I am so grateful that I am able to stay home while D goes to work each day.

Oh, so true! What a blessing to be able to have a job where we are teaching our children for the next generation! 🙂

I also love staying at home because I’m there when my son is sick.
