Vision Forum Ministries and Erwin Brothers Motion Pictures present…
The Mysterious Islands:
A Testimony to God’s Hand in Creation
Young Charles Darwin used his perceptions of the Galapagos Islands to help him write On the Origin of Species 15o years ago. Was what he saw there really a laboratory for evolution as he claimed or were his views tainted by the a belief system that was firmly in place by the time he arrived to the islands?
Darwinism was born in the Galapagos Islands. What would Creationists find when they headed to the island? Would they find that laboratory for evolution (as Darwin claimed) or would they find a testimony to the Biblical account of Creation?
16-year-old Joshua Phillips joins his father, Doug Phillips, and other researchers (such as Dr. John Morris) on a journey to the mysterious Galapagos Islands. Admittedly, this team is going to the island with Creation colored glasses, so they know up front that their perceptions will be different than those of Darwin.
The breath-taking documentary of their journey is filled with stunning imagery accompanied with beautiful music. While you follow the researchers and crew through their time at the island, you learn more about Darwin and his beliefs. You come to understand where he was coming from by the time he reached the islands.
The film doesn’t just shoot down Darwin’s ideas. Instead, it shows you a clear pictures of who Darwin was, and why he believed in his evolutionary theory. The story of Darwin, evolution, and Creation are woven into the documentary. Throughout the film, viewers will see how many of his beliefs have been scientifically disproved over time.
While you don’t have the HD quality of some of the recent nature films that have been produced, we were pleasantly surprised to see the high quality of the film and footage. The images and music were brilliant. We learned a good bit about Darwin and his theories that we were unfamiliar with previously. We enjoyed seeing the wonderful creatures of the Galapagos Islands – creatures that are unique to this chain of islands. To fully digest everything in this film, we will be watching it more than once.
The Mysterious Islands is a 90 minute documentary shot at the Galapagos Islands. The dvd contains many bonus features that enhance the viewing experience. We highly recommend this film for families and churches. Whether or not you agree with everything presented in the film, you will walk away having enjoyed the beautiful images and more informed about the life and beliefs of Darwin as well as the creatures of the Galapagos Islands.

The girls and I would all enjoy this one, as we’ve been studying through a book on evolution and the things that modern science is finding to disprove it, so this would tie in perfectly!

I think my oldest daughter would love this DVD the most, since she is such an animal lover. If I win it, we will watch it as a family and then donate it to our church library, because lots of kids in our church are being sucked into the evolution thing since their parents aren’t teaching them about creation.

My husband and I would LOVE this. We went to the Galapagos Islands for our 1-year anniversary in 2005, and it was the most amazing experience. It was just absolutely unbelievable, and this would be wonderful to share.
