The Summer of Kung Zhu has Begun!

Posted in Reviews

Kung ZhuWe were given the opportunity to host a Kung Zhu Party.  As soon as the party box arrived, I set out to schedule our impromptu party.  Because lots of people have moved and were moving soon, I wanted to get things going as quickly as possible.

Kung Zhu pets are basically Zhu-Zhu pets that have been geared towards the boy set.  Knowing my daughter and her friends, I knew that these Zhu-Zhu pet warriors (special forces and ninjas) would not be just for boys.  The good thing is that boys who secretly liked Zhu-Zhu pets now have a boy version that will be sure to please.

Once I saw the party box, I knew that I wouldn’t need any of the other party games that were sent along as suggestions.  As the kids walked in, I had a tower of the Kung Zhu sets and Kung Zhu hamsters waiting to be adopted and played with sitting on the table.  Each child was able to pick their own Kung Khu warrior and their battle armor.

Next, the kids set out to assemble all of the sets and create their grand training ground and fighting ground.  Lots of squeals and laughter could be heard.  The girls all decided that Kung Zhu hamsters were much cooler than just the “regular” Zhu-Zhu pets.  (The nice thing is the regular Zhu-Zhu pets can be used with the Kung Zhu accessories.)  “This is so cool!” “Look at this!”  Excitement completely filled the room.

The kids played for hours that day, and the play shows no signs of stopping in the near future.  As the temperatures outside rise, the Summer of Kung Zhu has begun inside!  Munchkin and her friends started singing, “Everyone is Kung Zhu Fighting.”  Following along with their theme, I put together slide show from the party to the song Everyone is Kung Fu Fighting.

Mom note: I was really impressed with the quality of all of the products that we received.  The playsets can be used individually, but they work best when several are put together.  Overall, the assembly was pretty easy, and the kids were able to follow the instructions without much issue.  Some pieces are difficult to take apart once they are put together, but this is the exception not the rule.  The Kung Zhu line of Zhu-Zhu pets takes the Zhu-nation to a whole different level.  While these are geared towards boys, all the girls that have seen/played with these actually prefer them over the regular Zhu-Zhu pets.  The boys think these are great and are thrilled that they can now have their own warrior Kung Zhu pets.
