The Beehive Reader 1, recipient of the silver medal in the Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards, is a phonics based early reader that correlates to the All About Spelling level 1 program. Example: Story 1 ~ “At the Pond” can be read after completing step 15 of the program. You can see more correlations to the program here. Although the Beehive Reader 1 is set up to be used with the All About Spelling program, it can easily be used as an independent reader.
The hard cover of this book makes it stand out from many early readers. The phrases in the story have a light underline to help younger children track their reading. The beautiful illustrations will capture the attention of children young and old. The pages are a heavy weight paper for more durability. The pictures and story are designed in a way that looks like a scrapbook page.

My Thoughts:
This is a wonderful early reader that Munchkin would have really liked when she was a beginning reader. The beautiful illustrations enhance the stories. I would recommend this book for any budding new reader.
Look for the next book in the Beehive Reader series to be coming out later this year.
