In How to Reach Your Full Potential for God, Charles Stanley takes readers through his 7 essentials for reaching their potential for God. The 7 essentials include a clean heart, a clear, mind, using your gifts, a healthy body, right relationships, a balanced schedule, and taking God-approved risks.
Charles Stanley did a good job developing each of the 7 essentials. While I may not agree with everything that was written in this book, I thought it was a good read. This would best be read slowly, so you can take notes and ponder on what has been written. As stated in the book, prayer should accompany anything we do in our lives, and this book in no exception.
My favorite essential was a balanced schedule as this is definitely one that is a constant struggle. This quote was a great reminder of how we can accomplish that much needed balance. “Invite the Lord to hold you accountable for your schedule. He’ll do it. The Holy Spirit is the ultimate time manager and accountability partner.”
The book closes with a chapter on the ongoing pursuit of reaching our potential and encouragement that “the best is yet to come.”
