Thrifty Thursday: Bulk Grains

Eating gluten free can get pricey if we buy all of the pre-packaged items. I save money by making things from scratch and buying in bulk. Today, we picked up our first order from Azure Standard.

Here’s what we received:

5 lbs of brown rice flour
25 lbs of brown basmati rice
25 lbs of brown short grain rice
(8) 44 oz bags of gluten free oats
32 oz bag of flaxseed meal
25 lbs of dried whole corn

We’ll store the large quantities in food grade buckets that I scored for $1 each at the Walmart bakery. From what I hear, you can sometimes pick these up for free. Everywhere around here recycles their buckets now, so if you want them, you need to pay a $1.

Buying grains in bulk saves us money!  You can find more Thrifty Thursday ideas at Frugal Finds.
