Historic Jamestown

Posted in Family, and Homeschooling

Here are some pictures from our trip to Historic Jamestown. Munchkin really enjoyed working on the Junior Ranger program. I like this program because it helps us focus on the main highlights at the National Parks. We’re trying to figure out a good way to display the patches that Munchkin has earned through this program. Historic Jamestown has some free lesson plans available. It’s Empty…

Posted in Family, Military Life, and Thoughts

The house is empty except for the fridge and pantry. Echoes fill the air as we walk and talk. The walls look empty without the pictures. It’s no longer a home; it is just a house. It’s weird getting ready to leave a house that we still own… We still have a little time before we start our cross country adventure. We continue to pray for our miracle of selling our house quickly. Our travel trailer is now our home. We’ll be working on getting it organized before we head out on the road. It’s going to be interesting living…

Munchkin had her final Awana for the year on Wednesday.…

Thanksgiving Dinner in May

Posted in Homemaking, and Thoughts

In November, when all of the Thanksgiving fixings are inexpensive, I love to purchase an extra turkey (or two) to put in the freezer. I also buy extra cranberry sauce and yams. These make for an inexpensive meal throughout the year. Since we’re trying to eat mainly out of the freezer and pantry right now to get ready for the move, we decided that it was time for a yummy Thanksgiving dinner – in May. Munchkin was thrilled to get to eat turkey and sweet potato muffins. The good thing is the leftovers will be great the rest of the…
