Birthday, Cousins, Fun

Posted in Family, Holidays, and Thoughts

This last week was a whirlwind of activity. We ended up having family stay for most of this past week. Our unexpected company made for a very happy birthday for Munchkin. Since we rarely get to spend birthdays with family, this was a fun treat. There were many early mornings as the cousins were eager to play together.

On Saturday, Munchkin had her first baseball game, and she had her own little cheering section. The weather was beautiful, and she had fun. We enjoyed grilled sausages and turkey franks after the game. Then we had homemade cupcakes in honor of her birthday. She had fun opening her presents which included a Webkinz. Her cousins showed her the whole website for that. They had fun going back and forth between playing outside and playing on the Webkinz site. We also decided to head over to the farmer’s market, and then stop for ice cream on the way home. She said that she had a great birthday!

On Sunday, I cut up lots and lots of fruit so the kids could design their own edible arrangements. Usually, we purchase Munchkin an edible arrangement for her birthday, but due to the craziness, I completely forgot until it was too late. The kids had a blast creating their own and then eating it up!! The adults, well, we really enjoyed the fruit as well. After that, they headed outside to wash all of the vehicles.

Munchkin’s birthday celebration continued on as we had her special birthday dinner on Monday night that included steak and carrot cake. She was a little bummed that her cousins were gone, so this helped cheer her up. We had a nice relaxing evening. She played board games with Daddy until bedtime.

It was a little warm in the house, so the frosting started to melt. Ooops!

Tuesday, we were back on track with schooling, and I got to work with getting the house put back together. There was lots of laundry and cleaning to do. I did lots of cooking while family was here, but I didn’t do a whole lot of cleaning other than in the kitchen. Daddy made it home early so we could go pick up Munchkin’s first military id. We’re still in disbelief that she’s old enough to have her own id card. We had another relaxing evening together.

We learned this week that we have less than a month before our movers come to pack us up. We’ll still be here for a couple of weeks after that as we’ll be finishing up Munchkin’s baseball season prior to moving. We’re starting to plan our stops for when we head across country. While I am not looking forward to spending that much time in the car, I am looking forward to getting to our new location. It’s going to be hot, but we love exploring new places.

It’s too warm, so the icing on the cake melted?! Are you serious? 🙂

Sounds like tons of fun with all the company.

    Happy ‘belated’ birthday Munchkin!!!
