Beautiful Weather

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

Our week started out with freezing weather and some snow. It ended with beautiful, warm, sunny days. We headed outside in our summer clothes and had fun working and playing in the warm sun.

The yard needed a lot of work due to being neglected all winter long. When you have lots of pine trees, you have lots and lots and lots of pine needles and pine cones to clean up. We’re still not done, but we made a huge dent. I didn’t mind all of the work as it felt wonderful to be out in the warm sun. Ah, fresh air!

We decided to do edible landscaping in the back by the deck. We planted different types of lettuce, strawberries, onions, and herbs. We may or may not get the opportunity to enjoy all of it, but we didn’t want to be completely without a garden even though we’re moving at the beginning of the summer.

Munchkin helped with the yard, and then she decided to ride her bike with some of the neighborhood kids. Yesterday, her new friends decided to come over to our house for a little while after they road bikes. They played basketball and tag. It warms a Mom’s heart to see her child laughing and playing. When Daddy got home, he joined right in with the kiddos. Longer days are wonderful for having fun with Daddy after work.

We were even able to eat outside last night. I had put some country ribs in the crockpot earlier in the day, so we had bbq ribs, corn on the cob, and cantaloupe for supper. Yum!!

More time outside means less time at the computer. Later this week, it’s suppose to be rainy, so we’ll tackle inside tasks at that point.
