Projects

Posted in Homemaking

Munchkin and I both have projects that we’ve been working on as we’re waiting for D’s arrival home. I can’t post Munchkin’s completed project yet as it’s a surprise for Daddy. I’ll post pictures once he sees it.

I’ve been working on a Felicity dress for Munchkin. She wants to be able to wear it for the costume contest at church. Yesterday, I cut out all of the pieces. Today, I put it all together. It was the first time that I’ve ever sewed in a zipper. I think it turned out pretty well.

Since I don’t really know how to read it a pattern, sewing something like this is always an adventure. I made a matching mob cap and handbag. Munchkin is very excited about it. I’ll post pictures of her wearing it once I can convince her to put it all on. I think she got tired of trying on the different pieces as I was making it.

Thank you! It’s a cotton blend fabric from my stash that I had purchased on clearance for less than a dollar a yard. We thought it worked nicely for this dress.

WOWZA! OH MY GOODNESS!!! I am just So impressed with you! She is going to look SO much like FElicity (as I think she already favors her!) and that cap will top it off (get it!). You are very skilled to be able to create something so beautiful! I can’t wait to see her in it!

You are so talented. I ‘love’ the dress. My youngest daughter, Brooke, just loved the American Girls stuff when she was younger. Naturally, she read all the books, saved her money and bought her own Samantha doll. This brings back memories from a favorite time I had in my daughters life.

I can’t wait to see pics of Munchkin in it.

    Treasure all these moments. 🙂
