Assignment: Post your favorite fall recipe/recipes to share. I love trying new recipes, do you? It can be baking, main dishes, veggies, dessert or anything else you can think of. There are no limits. Mmmmmm..I can’t wait to take a look at some of those recipes.
Munchkin loves roasted pumpkin seeds. She’s been enjoying the pumpkin seeds that we cleaned out of the pumpkins that we carved.
We washed the pumpkin seeds and dried them overnight. Then, I tossed them in olive oil and sprinkled with seasoning salt. We placed them on cookie sheet in a single layer and baked at 300 degrees F for 45 minutes. We stirred them at least once during baking. These are nice and crisp when done.
Before we carved the pumpkin we read the Pumpkin Prayer.
Scoop Out the Yuckies: Lord, take out all my fussies and frownies and fill me with Your love.
Cut Off the Top: Lord, open my mind and fill me with Your wisdom and guidance.
Carve Out the Eyes: Lord, open my eyes to see all of the beautiful things You have made.
Carve Out the Nose: Lord, help me to be a sweet fragrance for You.
Carve Out the Mouth: Lord, help me to always speak Your words of love and kindness.
Place in the Candle: Lord, let me be a light to others for You have filled me with Your light.
“For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6
