This and That

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

Munchkin’s bout with the chicken pox ended last week. She was glad to get through that as was I. We did a lot of reading during that time period. It was amusing watching the expression on the children’s librarian’s face when Munchkin handed her to full reading sheets. This summer reading program is based upon the minutes read by the child (and/or read to the child), not books read. This actually works in our favor as Munchkin is now reading longer books, so it takes a bit longer for her to get through them.

Munchkin is happily attending VBS this week. She was happy that one of her homeschooling friends is in her class. It’s always nice when you know someone.

I took the time during her illness to finally tackle our study area and get it nicely organized. Since Munchkin is moving into more complex science studies, I decided that I wanted to make sure she had plenty of space for her studies. (It also makes it easier to assemble the lapbooks.) I rearranged things in the room and re purposed several items in order to make better use of the space in the room. We now have an official school room. I’m sure we’ll still do some school work here and there, but this is now our main location.

I’m so glad that Munchkin is feeling better. Wow! Two pages of reading sheets is a lot! What is VBS?

Oh, I do hate the chicken pox! I had them as a child and my sister took markers and made constellations out of them. That was about as much entertainment as I ever got out of them. Misery!

    Hope everyone is better!

    Blessings!
