Munchkin and I have been having lots of fun planning for the next school year. What’s the problem you may ask. Well, she’s only a few weeks into the current school year. (We school year around, so she began the new school year shortly after finishing the previous school year.)
So, we find ourselves needing to be content in the present. We’re finding different ways to make what we’re doing now not seem “boring” compared to our plans for the future. This year, I am putting more effort into the planning of the school year. We’re doing more hands on activities to keep Munchkin more involved.
Munchkin and I have also been having lots of fun planning for Daddy’s return home for R&R (leave for rest and relaxation part way through his deployment). We’re thinking about spending time together as a family again. We’re planning yummy food for him to eat. We’re planning fun things to do together. We’re not planning on putting him to work. lol!
Once again, we find ourselves needing to be content in the present. While it’s fun to plan, we still need to focus on the here and now and not get ahead of ourselves. We need to be happy and grateful for all the wonderful blessings that are going on in our lives now. We need to live each day with purpose and praise God for each day that we have together.
“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state that I am, therewith to be content.” Philippians 4:11
This is what Munchkin and I are seeking to live in our lives — to be content with whatever the Lord sends our way.
“But godliness with contentment is great gain.” I Timothy 6:6
I know that R&R is long-overdue. Have fun and know that you and your lovely family are in our prayers.
I know he’s so happy to be coming home to such a loving family. Not every soldier is so blessed. I’m glad that your soldier is!!
Cheers!
