The good, the bad, and the ugly…
The good: I’m now sporting a brand new laptop thanks to having a warranty on my old one. They finally declared the old one a lemon and replaced it. I just needed to pay for a new warranty if I wanted it. Um, yes please…
The bad: they couldn’t back up my data.
The ugly: I lost all the pictures, ebooks, and other data that didn’t back up during my last back up session.
The good: I sent many of the pics to D, so he has them. I should be able to get most pictures (of similar pictures) by getting help from family. D can resend the pics that he sent me, so that’s good.
The bad: I won’t be able to get back all of the ebooks because many of them were freebies that I downloaded here and there. The ones that I purchased I’ll be fine as I can just re-download them.
The ugly: The other data… well, I’m just out of luck there.
So, I’m working on getting to know the new laptop and working on re-creating all of the information that I lost. I’m also a bit paranoid now, so I have a new portable hard drive that I’ll download pictures and ebooks to on a very regular basis. lol!!

We have an external hard drive that I normally back up data to, but it’s hooked up to the desktop. We’ve had a few issues with the backup procedures with it. Anyway, now I have one just for my files. lol! 🙂
Yippee!! Glad you get most of the photos via dh. On the e-books…you are welcome to any that I have…how can I get you a list of which ones I have? I’ve downloaded quite a few from homeschool e-store and other sources. LMK!
