First Tomato

We’ve been patiently awaiting our first red tomato of the season in our garden. We have lots of green tomatoes on the plants (which is wonderful in and of itself), but alas, the red tomato has alluded us. Well, a couple of day ago we found one of our cherry tomatoes starting to turn red. This is what I found this morning!!

Tackle It Tuesday

My project for Tackle It Tuesday will be to finish laying the pavers that we removed from the patio area around the newly created fire pit (I used the old bricks from the steps). I started the project yesterday and hope to complete it today. Yesterday, D spent a bit of time taking out the first layer of brick steps from the back of the house in preparation of putting down the deck. On this Memorial Day weekend, I decided I would share a bit of history about Memorial Day. It’s so easy to forget the meaning behind Memorial Day. As you enjoy the long weekend with friends and family, take a moment to remember those fallen heroes that allowed you the freedoms that you enjoy today.
