Tackle It Tuesday: Freezer Cooking

Posted in Thrifty Ideas

I’ve been putting off getting my freezer meals stocked back up since I haven’t been feeling all that great. So, my Tackle it Tuesday for this week will be my freezer cooking. I’ll be making:

1. Baked Mac ‘n Cheese (2)
2. 10 lbs of Mashed Potatoes
3. Pasta Bake (3)
4. Mexican Bake (2)
5. Calzones (12)
6. Breakfast Burritos (24)

We’ll see if we’re able to get it all done. It depends on how I’m feeling and how much munchkin wants to cooperate. I want to try to get it all done today. Wishful thinking??? We’ll see….

***Update: I was able to get the Baked Mac ‘n Cheese, Pasta Bake, and Breakfast Burritos done today. I also baked up some fresh bread to go with supper. Yum!**

WOW! Did you get it done?

And, while I love math, I have a daughter who hates it…and all of my cajoling and pontificating on the splendor of math is met with annoyance. I’d rather she forget it than hate it!

That’s a great idea for a tackle. In fact, I might do something similar myself. Good luck!

Oooooo freezer cooking! That’s a great tackle! I don’t think I’ve ever done that! My mother-in-law does it all the time but I’ve never tried it!

What a great goal for the week. I really need to get a freezer so I can cook extra. We keep talking about it, but never get one.

    Have a great week!

Thank you for all of your kind comments. I’ve added links to the recipes for the items. There are also links on the side bar for freezer cooking and once a month cooking for anyone who wants to learn more. 🙂

I need to do this too!! Trouble is, my big freezer has a quarter of a beef in it! I have room for maybe three loaves of bread. Period. Still, I’ll be trying a couple of your recipes out! Baked Mac n Cheese and Calzones both sound like something I’d love to get into the freezer. Now to get back into freezer cooking again! How to work around all the meat??

What a great tackle. I’ve never really frozen too many meals. Guess it would be worth thinking about someday.
