Sneak Peak at the Marine Corps Museum

Posted in Family, and Military Life

Marine Corps Museum

On Saturday, we were invited to a sneak peek at the brand new Marine Corps Museum. It wasn’t completely finished yet, but it was still amazing. I can’t wait to see the finished product. We’ve decided that we’ll just do 1 war or era at a time since there is so much to take in. They have actual airplanes and helicopters soaring overhead and tanks and other vehicles on the ground. The figures are cast from actual Marines in the area. They look very realistic.

The grand opening will be on Nov 10th — the Marine Corps Birthday. D will be working the event. I’m not sure if Little Song Bird and I will be able to make it over as some details have to be worked out first. We can’t wait to see the “finished” Museum. (They have plans to continue to add to it, so it will never be totally finished.)

I was just reading through your posts today and saw this picture of the Marine Corps museuem! We left Quantico in June 2006, prior to its opening! I bet it is so neat 🙂 I am thinking that we must have been in Quantico at the same times!?! Were in you involved in WOC (Women of the Chapel) by any chance? My husband was a instructor for three years and then attended EWS and graduated in May 2006. What a small Corps it is!

I am so sorry that you received some mean email. That is so very terrible. Is there anything you can do to avoid getting anything else like that? Do you know who sent it to you? My friend uses a filter that blocks people who repeatedly tried to send her mean emails ~ I will find out about it for you. My prayers are with you. That is no way to be treated. Our husbands serve so bravely, willingly and with compassion….I just can’t imagine someone doing that to you. Keep your chin up ~ your blog is a beautiful and uplifting place to visit. Oh, and I will certainly send those recipes to you also 🙂 Blessings!
