We’ve had a busy week and weekend. Here’s a brief recap….
On Tuesday, we headed over to Art from the Heart (a great pottery place) to participate in the homeschool craft for the day. Nope, I can’t say what it was as it may spoil the surprise for someone π We had a great time as always. This is one of Munchkin’s favorite places to go.
On Thursday night, I helped set up and stuff over 160 bags of school supplies for the kids at the back-to-school party. These were just bags from the people that donated school supplies. I arrived at 6:00 pm at didn’t get out of there until after 9:00.
On Friday, we headed over to the bowling alley for the REACH (our homeschool group) back-to-school party. We signed up for some fun fieldtrips, found a few goodies at the used book/curriculum sale, and played a couple of games of bowling. We headed home for lunch and then went blackberry picking. Yum!!! I made some fresh blackberry jam and froze the rest of the berries for later.
Saturday… I headed over to the Teacher appreciation sale at Staples to get my goodie bag while Daddy and Munchkin slept in. I headed back home to pick them up, so we could head over to the library. Once they were up and ready, we went to the end of summer Carnival/Ice Cream Social at the library. Munchkin played a few games. We listened to the library idol while looking at the different booths. Then, we ate ice cream; well, they ate ice cream and I ate a popcycle.
After lunch (at home), we headed over to Discovery Days. We had to catch a bus over to the site, so that was an interesting experience for Munchkin. The colonial “settlement” that they had set up was nice (not exactly what we were expecting), but it was too hot to really enjoy anything. We decided to head home after awhile.
Time for cleaning… we spent the rest of the weekend cleaning. Unfortunately for D, I was feeling really ill on Sunday, so I wasn’t much help. I’m so glad that he’s good at taking care of household tasks!!!
