My Thoughts:

The readings in this book begin November 24th and go through January 7th. It’s an interesting (not always in a good way) selection of writings about the Advent/Christmas season. While I enjoyed some of the daily readings, other readings were dry, uninspiring, and honestly a little odd for the purpose of this book.

Originally, I had planned on using this book as the daily Advent reading for my family, but I quickly discovered that it wasn’t going to work for this purpose. For now, I’m picking and choosing readings based upon my personal preferences for myself. I don’t mind a bit of heavy reading for devotionals and I enjoy readings that make me think, but these readings just didn’t fit what I was looking for in a family Advent devotional.

Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book from Handlebar Publishers to help facilitate the writing of an honest review. A positive review is not expected nor guaranteed. All opinions are my own.
