Fitness Friday: ShapelyGirl Fitness Week 3 Recap

Posted in Fitness, and Reviews

ShapelyGirl Let's Get Moving 2: Cardo Toning with WeightsI have joined up with some other ladies from the CWA Review team to form a ShapelyGirl Fitness group for the month of October. Each Friday during October, I’m going to post updates on how I’ve done for the week as a way to be held accountable. My final post will be on November 2, 2012 where I will wrap everything up and talk about my experience with the ShapelyGirl Fitness program.

It’s hard to believe that 3 weeks have passed since I started participating in the ShapelyGirl Fitness program. After being sick last week, it was nice to be able to feel up to getting moving again. One thing that I feel important to recognize this week is the fact that I’m really enjoying the atmosphere with not only this workout but also the group of ladies from the fitness team. If you’re having a rough time, they lift you up, encourage you, pray for you. It’s a beautiful thing to watch sisters in Christ come together and help one another get up and get moving. Debra keeps saying that it’s not about the weight, it’s about getting moving, staying moving, and getting fit. I love this approach.

Monday: time to get back to moving. I wasn’t sure how much I would be able to do after being down for a week, so I knew that I needed to take it slow. Once again, the flexibility in the program allows me to do this. I chose not to use weights and still ended up not being able to complete the full workout. I ended up fast forwarding through a little of the program, so I could do the cool-down portion with Debra.

Tuesday: I’m doing the ShapelyGirl Fitness dvd every other weekday, so I spent some time walking on the treadmill.

Wednesday: I was able to complete the full workout today (without weights), but it wasn’t easy. Honestly, the lower body stuff doesn’t bother me, but it’s rather obvious that my upper body needs some work. How is it that I can carry around full 5 gallon water bottles, but these workouts (without weights) make me sore and tired? Guess it’s all about the muscle group being used. lol!

Thursday: It’s another off day for the dvd, so I spent some time on the bike today. Later in the evening, we took the dogs for a walk as a family. While Daddy took a run at the track, Munchkin and I played with the dogs at the dog park. Chasing after dogs – fun, but tiring exercise. **grin**

Friday: My workout week is wrapping up on a good note. I was able to do the full workout today. Yes, I’m still doing it without weights. For now, I’m a wimp and suffer from muscle fatigue without the weights. I definitely felt better with the workout today than I did in previous days this week which means that with time I’ll be able to start adding in those weights.

Weekend: The weekend is all about doing things together as a family. We’ll see what fun it holds….

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. ~Philippians 4:13~

The other ladies on the CWA ShapelyGirl Fitness team will be posting about their progress this third week. I’d love it if you would head over to their blogs and encourage them as they progress on this journey. Because we have ladies of all shapes, sizes, fitness levels, and walks of life, you will see how the program works for a variety of women. We appreciate your prayers and support as we strive to get fit physically, mentally, and spiritually. Don’t forget to check back in during the week as this wonderful group of ladies will be linking up throughout the week.
